If you’re in the Metro Detroit area and looking for a fast, easy and 100 percent vegan restaurant, GreenSpace and Go might be for you.
Opened by the same owners of beloved 100 percent vegan restaurant GreenSpace in Ferndale, Michigan — GreenSpace and Go is the “fast food” version of the upscale restaurant.
With a menu full of wraps, bowls, salads, smoothies and baked goods — there is something for everybody on a time crunch. (Check out the menu here.)
Today, I opted for the Go South wrap on a collard green to keep it grain free with a side of the gluten-free, soy-free mac and cheese.
While I wasn’t overly impressed with the Go South wrap (I found it bland), I had enjoyed the Roc the Broc on a different occasion. So I would definitely recommend that.
But I have to say — as someone who is virtually grain-free, I really appreciated being able to put my sandwich on a collard green instead of being forced to have a brown rice wrap.
My meal was made quickly and was relatively affordable. Their mac and cheese was definitely creamy and served with lightly steamed broccoli on top. I would order it again.
(I personally enjoy my mac and cheese recipe a little better, but hey, they tried.)
The restaurant itself is pretty small. There are a few tables and a long counter for solo lunchers. Plus, their fast food utensils are all compostable, which is a huge step up from plasticware!
For a fast food joint that is 100 percent vegan, I was very pleased. I can’t wait to go back and try something else.
Have you tried GreenSpace before? Where is your favorite place to dine in Metro Detroit?
